Schedule of Events

SESSION 1
Monday, November 5th

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. – Registration
1:00 – 5:00 p.m. – Day One Afternoon Session

The Opening Session will discuss IG Design which includes adhesion, desiccant drying capacity, and U-factors. The benefits of low e coatings, optimum air spaces and gas filling will be presented, third party certification and testing

Workstation 1: Frost Testing
Participants will be instructed in how to take a frost point and have the opportunity to take a frost point on an IGU.

Tuesday, November 6th

8:00 – 12:00 noon – Day Two Morning Session

Station 2: Volatile Fog
How to visually inspect for volatile fog

Station 3: Gas Filling and Measurement
How to correctly use the GasGlass device plus introducing the iTig sensor for measurement of gas and humidity.

Station 4: Sealant Adhesion Test
How to safely break glass to conduct the test and proper gunning of PIB.

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. – Lunch Provided

1:00 – 5:00 p.m. – Day Two Afternoon Session

Station 5: Sealant Mix Test / Desiccant
How to properly mix and gun sealants safely.

Station 6: Glass Cutting & Washing
Demonstration of score quality, covering cutting wheel wear, cutting wheel angle and cutting wheel pressure, methods for testing desiccant drying capacity.

Station 7: Spacer and IG Fabrication
Looking at various spacers including well fabricated samples and samples with deliberate manufacturing issues.

5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Evening Reception (@Free Play Richardson – DFW’s original Free Play arcade! ~100 authentic retro games, 120+ awesome beers, cider, wine, liquor , and delicious food! You have to see it to believe it! )

Wednesday, November 7th

8:00 – 12:00 noon – Day Three Morning Session

Station 8: Forensic Investigations of Failures
Hands-on tool kit to determine failure modes starting from the basic visual inspection to destructive analysis of the unit.

Laboratory Hands On Session
Includes a tour and demonstration of the laboratory environmental test chambers, and equipment. Impact testing (tempered)

Room cancellations: Individual guest room deposits will be refunded if reservations are cancelled forty-eight (48) hours prior to the day of arrival. Non-cancelled room reservations (those that do not have an appropriate cancellation number) will not be refunded.
